The Behringer CAT arrived and I was quite surprised how different the layout is to most synths.. sort of reminds me of the Odyssey from that perspective.  I'll be making a walkthrough soon, but thought it was interesting to look at how I got to grips with it using the techniques I describe in the series.

Can't allow today to pass on here without saying RIP Florian Schneider. Very sad news. :-(

You can see how small changes to the internal architecture can really change the character of the sounds. Having the ability to mix three different wave shapes for one oscillator gives a lot of flexibility for the timbre, doesn't it? Not to mention novel LFO shapes when you use that oscillator in low frequency mode.
