Beth’s Mess 🤕 (Patreon)
Content
The Masters received an urgent mission: to recover a valuable cargo stolen from a great merchant of the kingdom by a group of audacious thieves who had taken over a village atop a mountain, expelling the population. With the disadvantageous location and skilled adversaries, the task was risky, but Elizabeth, Lívia, Hanz, Dekker, John, and Lionel were not intimidated and went after the criminals.
The battle seemed like a walk in the park for the Masters, who were dominating the thieves without much difficulty. However, upon spotting some of the thieves grouping in one of the village buildings, Elizabeth decided to use a Fireball to create an opening in the wall. But she lost control of the magic, depositing too much energy, a typical Autodidact mistake. The result? A disaster of epic proportions: the building, the thieves, and the valuable cargo to be rescued, all were pulverized.
Back at the Masters' Inn, Lionel urgently called a meeting to hear the reports. Scoldings were abundant for everyone due to the mission's failure. When everyone left, Lionel asked Elizabeth to stay and severely reprimanded her. It was the third time she had failed to use a spell, jeopardizing a mission. Master Arcane Lionel made clear his displeasure and questioned Beth's magical abilities, also highlighting the risks her autodidact nature posed to her, her companions, and innocent people.
Elizabeth was furious but relieved not to receive a punishment. However, Lívia and Samane were already one step ahead. With the help of Alare, a crucial leader among the Masters of Midgard, the girls decided it was time for Elizabeth to take everything more seriously and be more careful not to end up... blowing herself up. One way or another, she would certainly explode with the boldness of her friends (and Alare) to get her on track with a bit of "motivational introduction," as Beth seemed to be in need of it 😠💦
