Magic is one of the most important components in the world of Midgard, having been studied, enhanced, and explored in various ways by humanity since the arrival of the incredibly hot valkyries. Unlike the Darkness, magic uses emotions as its base to create elemental abilities, seals, or counter-spells, making it an extremely powerful tool, especially in combat.

But, as you might expect, advanced studies often come hand-in-hand with greed. Many scholarly wizards, in their insatiable hunger for power, have caused a number of catastrophic accidents, usually due to poor control over magic. Inhuman experiments or contacts with alternative and dangerous energy sources, like the Darkness, are examples of such events. These incidents, which can still occur today, albeit more rarely, have contributed to a strong initial prejudice against wizards.

To prevent potential disasters, improve the handling of magic, and clear the wizards' bad reputation, humans developed more efficient methods of passing down magical knowledge. One such method is the traditional master and apprentice approach, where experienced masters teach how to control magic properly and prevent accidents.

However, not everyone finds a master, leading these individuals to become Autodidacts. Autodidacts are those who learn to manipulate magic without a master's guidance, through reading books, scrolls, or other means. Although there aren't many Autodidacts, they are the biggest cause of magical accidents and, for this reason, are greatly prejudiced against by some people, especially other wizards.

Elizabeth Nantar, the Master Sorceress of the Masters of Midgard, is a famous Autodidact in the magical community. Fortunately, she didn't face much prejudice but had to endure the severity and questioning of Lionel Engels, the Master Arcane, multiple times. Well, even when facing occasional difficulties in handling magic, Elizabeth shut the mouths of those who doubted her with her undeniable skills and a touch of boldness. Elizabeth know exactly how to cast the spell Suffocating Silken Seat! 👄🍔🚫

Elizabeth: ...This is much more elaborate than usual. Lena: Like way more effort to connect what's in the description to what's onscreen. Elizabeth: A much larger focus to engage in continuity. Lena: ...You think Scribe hurt Khartemis's feelings? Elizabeth: Yes.
