Man these episodes are a trip, maximum capacity always gets me.

Was the scarf and hat on Pearl a Doctor Who reference?

Hoarding behavior often starts when one experiences a severe loss (in this case, the loss of a lover for Greg and the loss of a close friend and leader for Amethyst). Refusing to part with anything, even literal trash, is a maladaptive way of avoiding future loss. I struggled with hoarding as a teenager, not due to losing a loved one, but due to other trauma that made me feel out of control. I’ve, thankfully, been able to manage it as an adult (although I often still end up throwing things, like junk mail into small piles that I eventually have to go through when I can overcome the inertia that prevented me from just throwing them away in the first place). As Paula pointed out, the show is deep and mature (which really makes for a good “kid’s show,” as the best programming primarily aimed at children doesn’t underestimate their intelligence or capacity to feel). Garnet being unresponsive to Steven and trying to look busy fussing with the picture frame when he asked if Pearl was O.K. was a nice touch. It shows that Garnet isn’t immune to emotional pain, despite her normally stoic demeanor.

Watching this series after having seen the whole series really gives certain episodes more context.

Okay, this is the first video where I'm finally up to date with your reactions and I just have to say, as a long time super fan of SU, it's been incredible watching along with you both. I feel like I haven't seen anyone quite as passionate and inquisitive reacting to this show as you two, (which isn't a slight against anyone I have seen, or may have missed.) I look forward to seeing what the future holds! Happy Holidays!

Lil Butler theme song = Mr Belvedere (https://youtu.be/k-GML1pWkww ) + Facts of Life (https://youtu.be/d9_rv9mZ4hQ ). The overall plot seems to have a smattering of Small Wonder as well (https://youtu.be/81Oe03Z39rA ) With some other 80s sitcoms thrown in.

Please don't forget to watch this video after getting to Season 2 episode 5! Can't really discuss what it is out of risk of spoiling it for Paula. Hope that Katrina sees this! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eAZs8BCxUOs

It's on the schedule for them to watch, but not until much later in the season.
