Henchman Twenty1

A Klingon who was raised by Humans teaching other Klingons to be Klingon. How touching. Also, I am sure that Picard knew exactly what Worf meant at the end and understood exactly why.

For me, this was always a mid-tier episode, but I knew it would have a good reaction. Really enjoyed watching it with you guys. Both of you, but Kat in particular, are so deeply empathetic that it really helps me connect with some of these storylines that I have a harder time with by myself. Not that I'm a sociopath or anything, but sometimes I can be a little detached, so I appreciate the empathy boost I get from sharing the watch with you. I'm excited about the rest of the season. There are some real bangers coming up and only one I don't really like.

Christian Rennie

Paula with the great questions! I'll answer too.... My interpretation of Picard's, "I understand." It's less about Picard guessing/knowing the "Truth" and more about knowing Worf's truth. Picard knows Worf would never lie to him unless it served a higher purpose of honor. Picard probably knew that Worf was lying. But, he knew that Worf's explanation was the Truth that was offered and there was no need to pursue anymore information. Picard not only trusts Worf's decisions but also respects the honor bound choice Worf probably made. That is the understanding.

I know Paula was kind of joking as she was looking at upcoming episodes, but we really do have amazing episodes coming up and hopefully some equally amazing reactions.

I always wondered why they just didnt let this actor play "Mendek" again. He plays him the same way. Mendek was the Romulan that picked up Vulcan Ambassador T'Pell, who was actually the Romulan spy, Selok

Thanks to Kat for the heads up re: Trek Long Island. Their website says their next event is in May. It looks like they’ll have a booth at Long Island Doctor Who on Nov. 19/20, though. I think another aspect of the episode worthy of discussion is Tokath “marrying” Gi’ral and having a child with her. When you have that power imbalance, you can’t truly give consent.

Firefly24601

That actor has a distinct delivery that makes him easily recognizable.

No playback on pt2. I can play pt1. ??

Yeah, that Tokath-Gi'Ral thing makes me uneasy. They SAY everyone is equal in the compound, but Tokath definitely holds the balance of power. They're his guards, and he "gave" Worf to L'Kor, which assumes Worf was Tokath's to begin with. Now, was Tokath's position freely decided on by all the people there? If so, I'm not so worried about things. If Tokath's position just stayed the same from the prison days, or devolved from his Warden position, then I have a problem.

Use the Vimeo link in the description. The link embedded in the image is broken.

He does, ur right. I think, if it had to do with copyrights, they should have left him nameless and had Worf "recognize" him.

It had to be a different character, since Tokath said he chose to give up his military career 20 years prior to provide safe harbor for the Khitomer POWs.

In the last video comments section I recommended some possible sci-fi shows to react to after TNG and I would like to add another I have not seen mentioned by others...Farscape. It is an Australian show from the early 2000's that ran for 4 seasons on the Sci-fi channel and has a general feel of Dr. Who weirdness mixed with TOS style stories. It breaks the average trope of swashbuckling male protagonist by making the male lead the alien in the show and portraying him as a fish out of water often mocked by his new alien allies. Also some very strong female leads. Very solid sci-fi.
