The first part of this story really angered me. Whats the "one thing you never put in a trap?" The idea that the Doctor sits in prison for years?!? Helpless??? FEH! You put the Doctor in prison and in a week she's organized the prisoners, in 2 weeks she's blackmailing the guards and in 3 weeks she's sitting behind the warden's desk smoking his cigars... well maybe not smoking. The idea that she has to wait for a man to come & rescue her? No! Not having it... and we didnt need another "What's Jack hiding up his butt?" moment.

Nicole Mazza

Same. I was really confused and annoyed about her being imprisoned for so long, as any other Doctor would've been out of there, like you said. It's happened time and time again in the show. And on top of that damsel-ing her, so she needed a man to save her. SMH.

Ian Smith

As the two of you are intending to react to Sylvester McCoy, can I STRONGLY suggest Remembrance of the Daleks? I know it's yet another Dalek story; but, take it from me, it will be worth it!

Keith Goodnight

Martha's not the only other companion who got to choose when to leave: the majority of Classic series companions left when they chose (although there were also plenty who didn't). I was about to actually run down a list of who chose to leave and who didn't, but thought better of it when I realized the Gallifrey Gals might someday watch those stories and I don't want to spoil. (In fact I'm actively hoping that once they're fully caught up with the new series, they'll watch Classic in full to keep the Wibbly Wobbly videos going.)

Bill

Yes it was 10 months for them and 19 years for her, Paula. But the Vortex Manipulator is dirty time travel, and then she had a TARDIS so...? Graham said it best. The TARDIS doesn't work that well sometimes. And as we just discovered, The Doctor is Eternal while companions are not.

Jade Ellis

So, the Vworp, Vworp for the Tardis has been used for decades in the comics. Really enjoyed this story, it was good to see Jack back with the Doctor. And I like that Ryn and Graham just leave instead of something forcing them to go. Really hope the 7th Doctor story is the one I'm thinking of cause I'd really look forward to that one.

Firefly24601

Yup, Remembrance of the Daleks is one of the Classics that was voted on ages ago, and that's the McCoy serial they will be watching.

Bill

It's nice when companions have family to keep in mind and to go back to. Amy had nobody because her only family was Rory and her Raggedy Man. Even her childhood BFF was just her daughter. Amy had nobody, and she had one of the richest family stories.

Bill

Well 13 is 6 episodes, then the 3 - 2022 specials at 90 minutes each.

Firefly24601

Hopefully the one you're thinking of is Remembrance of the Daleks :)

Camo with the mic drop!

Really sad that Jodie's era is over, but getting to watch it through Paula's eyes is comforting.

Nicole Mazza

I always forget Thirteen straight up KILLS a TARDIS at the end of this, without remorse. You know, an innocent sentient being. :(

Red Claw

Despite not liking the whole thing with the timeless child, I liked season 12. The timeless child was one thing and there were enough good episode for me to enjoy the season. And I really like Jodie as the Doctor. But it also had an episode I did not like at all. This episode I also really liked. The only thing is that the Trump character is to close to home and I want him to be dealt with. I want some Catharsis and it did not give me that.

Mark Ten

I wasnt sure if that was the Master's Tardis or one they stole from Gallifrey, but if it was the former then it must have been pretty corrupted by that point... not a good excuse but its the best I can come up with.

Mark Ten

And how often do we root for a Dalek to kill a human?

Funny That

Seems better to focus on the sacrificed TARDIS having had a log existence and this episode was that TARDIS going out with a bang at the point in time a space were it was always going to end up. At least thats my fan cannon, but it is still such a waste of incredible technology.

Funny That

Well what is a 19 years to someone who has definitely lived through 2000+ years, and Bob only knows how many other years working for The Division. The prison stay was like an extended version of Smith's Doctor hiding away in the TARDIS after the Demons Run triumph/debacle, but way worse because: * "Who am I?" and * "I destroyed everything the Master didn't of Galiffrey" and also * "Given that I was maybe used/abused how much should I even care/miss of Galiffrey?"

Firefly24601

I have to say that the not-Trump character was written MUCH better this time than the previous episode he was in.

That episode made me so angry with Chris Chibnall. Why would you give our current government the idea to use Daleks against protestors? You know they'll do it, and it's going to suck. The ending really made me cry, the dynamic of the group of them was so good and it felt incredibly raw.

Mark Ten

19 years in solitary with no one (except herself) to talk to? No thanks... not even for an immortal Time Lord who doesnt seem to be abler to sit still for more than 30 seconds at a time.
