Face the Raven, Face the tears, face the is this real dilemma 😂

On the permanence in losing the companions. I see the point and its validity. I do agree, but only to a point. For me, it's often more about the moment. What the characters are feeling at that time. If the Doctor can find a way to fix the situation then they obviously will, it's The Doctor. But that then doesn't invalidate the emotion that the scene is trying to elicit at that time. But I'm an empathetic watcher, I prefer to focus on how the characters are feeling and not on whether I'm being tricked into feeling something for the umpteenth time. Arguably some scenes carry more weight that others by the skill of the writer and the performances of the actors. As you credited, everyone is really on point for this episode. If you are sad, then it worked and they all did their job inspite of the long precedent that has been set. Which one could argue is an achievement on its own.

I know I'm unpopular in my opinion, but I really like it likes Stephen Moffatt's writing. I miss him as show runner. I've gotten attacked a lot for saying what I just said, but it is what I think and feel.

Darren Withers

You realise you missed the post-credit scene?

Time Lord

We didn't!! It might have been edited weird because Paula stopped her video by accident but we did watch it! -Kat

This is one of those episodes that I really only watch one scene of-- the last one. But watching your reaction to it made me wish I watched the full episode a bit more. There were a number of things I had forgotten about that add to the experience.

Darren Withers

Ah, that makes more sense. It kind of looked like you were waiting for it then gave up, but what you said makes more sense. Sorry, I was just making sure.

Moffat did shoot himself in the foot with how many times he killed Rory and Clara just to bring them back and it really hurts this story the most. Remember when he killed Rory 3 times in 1 episode?😂 We only believed it the last time because Amy went with him. This is the version of Clara we have had since the end of series 7 so even if versions of her are scattered along the Doctors timeline, THIS Clara with all her growth and the times she spent travelling with the Doctor is gone. Paula hit the nail on the head. Its a perfect way for Clara to go out; trying to be the Doctor and believing shes unstoppable, exactly in character for her. That beautiful goodbye scene gets me every time, Peter and Jenna killed it as always. And when 12 was quiet-mad talking to Mayor Me 👀, oof first time i saw him like that, i was genuinely scared for her.. attack eyebrows came out to play. I cant believe we are here...Bird.

I agree. RTD is great, Chibnall varies but is usually at least good, but Moffat is my favourite. When people are getting so excited about "RTD2" I look at S1-4 and I see some great individual episodes but a lot of weak and so-so ones too. I'm not unhappy to have RTD coming back but the way people are getting about it is how I would feel if Moffat were returning. Although I'd also like to see someone new.

tal goren

Moffat is the better writer, but RTD is the better showrunner. he is better than Moffat in editing other people scripts, which is the most important skill in show running. P.S i an totally going to steal "RTD2" :)

tal goren

what i always found weird about this episode is that the doctor immediately jumps to "trap streets" when he trying to find out what happend to Rigsy. they never came up before and it is not like weird stuff doesn't happen in regular Whoniverse streets. it would have made more sense for the doctor to just jump back 1 day and follow past Rigsy to figure out what happened

Amy Chlebus

@tal goren It's OK. Everyone is entitled to how they feel how they feel. I've always preferred Moffatt over RTD. I always watch series 1 and 5 through 10 And completely skip 2 through 4. It's because I really don't like the 10th doctor. Plus I don't like how RTD wrote them. I'm more of an action and make you think girl then then a romance girl, but that's just how I feel about the 2 of them.

Paul Mason

Can't take credit for RTD2 - several people were using it on twitter

Firefly24601

The first time I watched this episode, I forgot who Rigsy was too. Had no idea where Clara and 12 knew him from! Had to look it up afterwards.
