Nice observation of Worf's situation mirroring that of Jono/Jeremiah! I think the seeming hypocrisy of the raising Worf in the Federation may be based on the fact that he had no other surviving family among the Klingons (until finding his brother much later). The Empire was probably notified of the USS Intrepid crew discovering him in the ruins of the Khitomer attack. Since there were no other members of the House of Mogh left to claim him, the Empire may have allowed the Rozhenkos to adopt him without issue.

Everyone else already pointed out the many allusions in this episode, the metaphors that are shown are great. So the only thing I can really comment on and not just regurgitating stuff is by saying Katrina's new hairdo is cute as fuck, it's adorable.

sorry, I couldn't add more but while I think it's not a case of Stockholm syndrome, he has a family that loves him and raised him. I have a friend who was adopted and he's had the info to contact his birth parents and has refused to do so. Anybody can be a mother or father, but it takes someone special to be a mom and/or dad. Sorry if it's cheesy, but it's true.

This story bears something of a resemblance to a TOS episode titled Charlie X. Both deal in a young male brought up in a different alien culture,and the problems that can result. TNG's resolution depends upon uncomfortable but necessary diplomacy; in TOS it's rather more uncompromising. A good comparison of the series different styles. (Perhaps a story to watch if you go back to TOS again)

I love Little Shop of Horrors, so happy Rick Morranis has returned to the world of acting on occasion, I respect why he took time off more than anything, but happy to see him come out of retirement now that his children are grown. Man's a national treasure (Yes I know he's Canadian but the man's a treasure wherever he lives, and I think now he lives in America))

Oh my GOD I never even thought about how this should have been a Worf episode. I didn't really like this one growing up, but it has grown on me over the years. However, now I'm just super mad at what a missed opportunity this was!

The issue with Worf and comparing him to Jona is interesting. However I believe it is discussed earlier in the series that when Star Fleet found him they thought all his parents and family had been killed. He would of been an outcast and not welcomed back into the klingon empire. Also I don't believe he was ever kept secret from the klingons. They knew he lived with humans and I am sure he was always given the choice to return if he wanted to.

This is one of just a few episodes I can’t stand. I hate with a passion that idiotic whaling they do, it just irritates me on every level. The main kid in this was in a lot of 80’s shows.

While this wasn't one of my favorite episodes, I feel like one thing that is shown here is how Picard has "Fatherlike" qualities that come through when necessary even though he says he's not comfortable with kids

I think the big message of this episode was that family’s where you find it and it’s O.K. to live the life you choose to live. It is complicated, of course, given Jono’s young age and the circumstances that originally led him to his Talarian family. Worf decided to embrace his Klingon heritage, but that may not be the path Jono takes. He has to make whatever decision makes him happy. I’m sure Picard had a lot of explaining to do to Admiral Rosa.
