So, I too really don't like the intro. I think I know why they did it though, This season was the First time that doctor who episodes aired at roughly the same time in the United States as the UK and other parts of the world, so there was a bunch of people who started watching, either for the first time, or to finally watch live with this series, hence the intro. I do think it was a bit unnecessary still, Especially after they had it as the intro for the first episode.

John

How long have they been here? "As long as there was something out of the corner of your eye..." I *LOVE* how they turn childhood fears into something tangible. Same with the Vashta Nerada being the dust in sunbeams, etc. Such a great way to play on experiences all humans have had and can relate to. I also liked how the missing Nixon tapes were the recordings of his calls with the little girl.

Paula also hates the intro. ONE OF US! ONE OF US!!! :D

One thing i find a little disconcerting is Paulas comments on a scene with superhuman speed. It almost seemed at 44:14 that she laughed before the actor spoke. Shes a mind reader!

I’ve seen this so many times and it’s always fresh for me. I love Moffat story arcs. T Davies arcs realy were just mentioning a word or a name a lot bad wolf, torchwood, mr Saxon. And then in season four just have rose keep appearing. The show to me kept me interested and my fave episode of nuwho is coming up and I’m so excited. That intro is driving me batty, I feel so sorry for those in other nations who had to watch that rubbish, glad it’s not in britain

I remember laughing my head off as I finished watching this episode. I loved it, still do especially when a fan is watching it for the first time and you can see all the what's flashing across their face. Paula's face this time and my nephew's face the first time it was broadcast.

John

What's a time head?

Opti_Frog

After a superb, and very modern feeling, two-parter to start off the season, Moffat has the audacity to cap it with a regeneration as a grace note. When i first saw this my jaw was planted on the floor for a good minute.

Opti_Frog

It's probably obvious, but i don't think the DW video is perfectly synced with their reactions.

The odd intro recap portion that no one likes, as far as I understand, was added by BBC America and was not present on the original British release. I have copies of season 6 here that do not contain that intro segment and instead transition smoothly into the standard intro. My understanding was that season 5 represented a large push into America for the first time, and culminated in an even more significant American focus for following seasons. BBC America (in their infinite wisdom) decided that Americans would be lost without that recap. Sadly that recap ended up becoming the de facto version that was uploaded to most streaming platforms. On the plus side, because Doctor Who was becoming significantly more popular in America, it did justify an increase of budget, along with some filming actually taking place within the United States. So I guess you win some, you lose some. Take some solace in the fact that the original British version was free of that entirely, and that it was only tacked on last minute.

Mark is British-American he has dual citizenship, I assume his mother is American because his father is british

For the second week in a row I'm unable to download any of your reactions off wave. Very bummed. Is this intentional or something on wave's end. What's up ladies?

BrightHeart

I feel we were all Kat at 52:27.

Since Paula seemed a bit confused by the reaction to the kiss, I feel compelled to remind her about last week's scene between River and Rory explaining that they're travelling in opposite directions. The one about there's a time I'll look into his eyes and he won't know me at all. Similar thing here, if it was the first time the Doctor shared a kiss with her, it's the last kiss she'll share with the Doctor. (if time is linear...) That's why the incredibly sad music and overtones in a sweet moment.

Lloyd B

I do like the touch that we have the Doctor effectively to blame for Nixon’s paranoia and habit of taping every conversation in the Oval Office, and especially that Paula picked up on that. So many reactors I’ve seen appear to have completely missed this.

Brandon Scott

Absolutely LOVE seeing Katrina's expressions she has when Paula is talking about her theories and thoughts at the beginning and end of these videos...even during the show. They make these videos just extra entertaining..

Brandon Scott

I don't and never have understood this passionate reaction to the new intro. I mean, I'm not really a fan of it. but it just is and I don't really care either way.... Though I have noticed a theme in the people that say they don't like it. I just don't think it's really worth mentioning, maybe more than once... and even then just as a passing remark. It's just what it is. It isn't a commentary on Amy's importance or significance as compared to previous companions. It really has very little to do with Amy at all. I don't know. I feel like I'm going to catch some flack for this but I just hear it so often and I really don't get it.

Travis Starnes

I'm not sure if either of you caught it, but when the Doctor says "I've seen one of these before, but it was abandoned", he's refering to the room they're in. It's the exact same layout as the time ship upstairs from Craig in "The Lodger". If you look you can see the same panels in the center thing, the round glob thing, etc. The thing above Craig's flat was somehow connected to the silence.

Travis Starnes

Also, can we talk about how Rory is amazing.

Travis Starnes

I remember seeing this for the first time and realizing that's what she was saying. It's so incredibly sad.

Malcolm Wolf

Maybe direct message them, as they might miss your comments here. It might be a copyright thing. I cannot find a download option myself, but perhaps I am missing something obvious in my lack of sleep. You might want to try a different browser or an extension that downloads video feeds, and see if that works.

Darren Withers

They also made refreshed that explanation this episode at 30:56, when the Doctor is grilling River about the identity of the person who summoned them to Nevada last episode. "Our lives are back to front, your future's my past, your firsts are my lasts." It is a shame Paula seemed to miss that significance, but then we all pick up tidbits that we missed the first time upon second viewings.

Darren Withers

That's silly! His mother is American because she was born in America! How would his fathers birthplace affect hers? X-D

Darren Withers

You forget the missing planets in season 4 (The Adipos breeding world, Pyrovilia, The lost moon of Poosh) and the bee's disapearing, but you're right. The arcs in the first 4 seasons were really more like easter eggs, but they were there for the eagle eyed viewers. They were a reason for many to go back and review every episode leading up to the finale's once we recognised they would be there, but Moffatt made sure to make them more obvious so we'd start asking questions and looking forward to finding out what they meant

Time Lord

I absolutely love when they play on the childhood fears and shared experiences! Those moments where we've all gone.. wait, what? So so good. Vashta Nerada is one those favorites of mine too for that reason! - Kat

Time Lord

All of it flashing across her face!! It was priceless!! One of my favorite things about series 6. It's so much fun to watch! - Kat

Time Lord

Yeah when I watched it my first time there were small things I missed here and there. It's bound to happen with all the shenanigans going on. But don't you worry.. Paula starts to connect some dots along the way 😁 - Kat

Time Lord

Don't mind me over here... just dancing with facial expressions trying to keep it all locked away in my head 😂 - Kat

UsernameMK

Yeah, they were definitely expecting a lot of new viewers. They got them, too; that they abruptly started providing terrible little "recap the premise" segments immediately after the show obtained the budget to finally depict something other than Welsh Quarries is not a coincidence.
