Whoops, I've gone and done it again.

So originally my plan was to do Campaign for North Africa before Christmas, as you might've gathered from me announcing that project so early on while I was preparing for it. But, as usual, I've gotten bogged down doing what I always do - going way too far for another big project.

This big project is a video on a game of Diplomacy we played some months ago. If you've never heard of Diplomacy, it's in many ways the Grandfather of so many board games today that use betrayal and trust as their very foundation - and this game we played was no different.

The problem however comes with the fact that Diplomacy is not Monopoly - people don't know the game or how to play it, and although it's really not complicated it can be hard to follow if you're not playing it yourself (it's one of those games where everything builds onto itself, so by cutting the seven hour game down it gets hard to track whats going on).

And so I had a "great idea". What if I made an animated map of the game board, with units, and used that periodically so that people knew what was happening as the game progressed? It's honestly still a really good idea - since I can colour territory as it changes hands and show things happening much clearer than otherwise.

But this then meant I had to draw and fully animate the game board and all the pieces for a video that's already like an hour and a half long (...at least). Obviously I'm not doing the whole video - most of the footage in tabletop stays in tabletop - but I'm still doing quite a lot and its taking more time than I expected.

So I've now come to terms with the fact that there's no way hell I can both start and finish CNA before Christmas comes, so I'm doing a bit of re-arranging. Diplomacy will now be my big Christmas video, so you can expect it to come shortly before the day itself - but in the meantime, I'll drag one or two other videos I've been sitting on forward and push them out for you guys to buy me some more time :)

We'll still do CNA obviously, I'm not chickening out of that one. But that can stay as the next big project to do in January when I get back from a short holiday break.

That's all from me. Happy Holidays to you all, and I'll see you very soon with this next video - where we played the best civ game ever made. (laugh track).

Yea, had a feeling this was going to be the case. Definitely better to do the CNA after Christmas.
