Hello Adventurers,

August has been a slow development month for me, it's the summer holidays here in the UK. I had a couple of weeks away with the kids, where for the first time in a long time I made an active effort to step away from development.

This month has seen a few disruptions on the proxy side. One of the elements that sits in the background is the CORS image proxy. This allows Foundry to retrieve the images from D&D Beyond for use in Foundry. It's been working fine for a number of years, but this month, there have been a number of attacks against the service, and some changes have been needed to mitigate them.

DDB had a couple of surprise releases in the form of the Baldurs Gate Gazetteer and  Taldorei Reborn.

On top of all that Larian had the audacity to release Baldurs Gate 3 which I have been enjoying playing with my wife. We have very different approaches to character design...


Work on improving the class feature imports is ongoing, although, as expected, it has become quite a complex problem. There are several minor fixes and improvements to the modules this month, which you can see below.

September has Phandelver & Below coming, a reworking of the original starter set box with some new higher level content.

Condensed Change Log

Active Auras

  • Template auras would not apply the template correctly if Wall Blocking was enabled.
  • Updates to remove changes of duplicate auras being applied or errors if moving tokens very quickly.

DDB Importer

  • Default door sound added to DDB Maps. (v11)
  • Some code refactoring
  • Fix a journal page find collision when using Third Party Adventure Munch
  • Allow users to sync character back to DDB using their own patreon key, this can be set in the Advanced tab of the character.
  • Corrections for when calling some aura macros when not embedding ddb macros (will require reimport/munch) for spells to pick up these changes. Only needed if experiencing problems, e.g. with Web spell.
  • Fixes for adding ddb effects to non-ddb actors.
  • Back fix for ddb effect addition in v10.
  • Fix when applying ddb effects to Sneak Attack.
  • Misty step effect not applied if using Automated Animations as it has better built in support.
  • Quasit effects for Claws.
  • Invisibility feature effect (not spell), for monsters.
  • Ensure proficiency bonus to initiative is added to effects (Harengon).
  • Improve checks for language modifiers that are not set, or shouldn't be present on DDB.
  • Fix a bug that duplicated race granted cantrips, and could result in re-import failing.
  • Improvements to spells granted by feats that add to spell list as well as a use per rest.
  • BREAKING CHANGE: Most items which were previously loot, are now consumables. Please let me know if you think anything should change type.
  • Fix for dex save penalty for slow spell effect.
  • Order of the Profane Soul will set Pact Spell level correctly if munching with effects on.
  • Frostbite effect: some combinations would not allow effect to remain for the correct duration.
  • Item Macros will now be added to items in a slightly newer syntax.
  • Green Flame blade macro threw an error when using automated animations, due to changes with animation config.
  • Items ignored by import would be ignored, but also duplicated.
  • If applying effects via api, chris' effects would not apply to items or spells
  • Primal Savagery, correct targets and range.
  • Daunting Roar effect.

Tokenizer

  • Fixes #132: When a token frame is uploaded via the upload button rather than the find frame button the apply default mask button would not work.

DDB Adventure Muncher

  • GotG: Initial grid alignments.
  • New book release support.
  • Fix MacOS Log file location.
  • Support for Taldorei Reborn.
  • Support for Baldurs Gate Gazetteer
  • Improve downloading of high res images in some circumstances where they were previously missed.

Pathmuncher

  • Support for 5.3.1 Pathfinder system attribute adjustments.
  • Support detection of renamed spells if importing from Pathbuilder into v5.3.1 of Pathfinder system.
  • Ignore Imprecise Scent warning as sense applied correctly.
  • Some improvement to feat location placements from granted items.
  • Slight tweak to processing order to better account for skills during class predicate evaluations.
  • Improve order of items granted by glass to sort by level, if the class does not order them this way in the data (e.g. Kineticist ) to improve feature matching.
  • Skill feat and ancestry feats should now have a better match ratio in higher level characters.
  • Improvements around feat renaming (when options are selected) to reduce duplicate postfixes.
  • Some improvements around Gate Thresholds.
  • Support for PF2e 5.4.x.
  • More improvements to placing feats granted by feats into the correct place.
  • Removal of deprecated always prompt option

Thanks for all the work; groups been using Foundry + your stuff since May, and its been working seamlessly. Love it!

Hey I was wondering, is there a way to make homebrew work in pathmuncher if it has a pathbuilder json

Kind of.... You can select which compendiums you wish to search for features/classes/etc so you can create a compendium with your homebrew feats etc and then in Pathmuncher settings you can add these compendiums to the appropriate lists for Pathmuncher to check.
