Power chords (aka: 5th chords) are the most used chord in metal. In order to make your chord progressions stand out, it is quite helpful to know what other options are.

This lesson starts by demonstrating a typical metal power chord progression, then goes through 6 variations of the same root note progression by using different kinds of chords.

Attached to this lesson are two different things. The "Chord Progression" files show the variations of the power chord progression. The "Chord Variations" files show a list of different chord options you can use instead of a standard 5th chord.
