Quick Situation Update (Patreon)

(TL;DR) Keep yourself unpledged but still follow me for now....

Firstly still unable to complete Kyra yet, but my computer has no BSOD errors so far (touch wood).

So on Thursday 25th April I got fed up of waiting for Cyberpower to get back to me and took my desktop to the local tech shop, and waited until it opened (in the rain, but I and my computer were under a canopy).

I explained the problem, he quoted £35 for a complete format and re-instillation. He completely wiped the computer (but I have my files backed up to a seperate hard drive and online cloud storage) and then re-installed Windows 10 WITH the dreaded 1809 update which had killed a lot of computers before, he then manually updated my drivers and then did some hardware tests.

As you may know my computer HAD 16GB of RAM (Memory), it now has 4GB at the moment and tasks like using VLC media player for music or videos often caused occasional lag and stuttering. What he said was, testing each stick individually was that 3/4 were corrupt RAM sticks, which is why the BSOD were happening no matter what I was doing because EVERYTHING needs RAM to do stuff.

Cyberpower had put in 4 4GB RAM sticks, ADATA ones which the tech guy told me were the most basic you could get and often found in office computers! He took the 3 bad ones out, rebooted and had no problems, and so far since then neither have I. Except that now with only 4GB of RAM, my computer struggles to handle high intensity software and processes. I've contacted Cyberpower who have agreed to send me some replacement RAM sticks BUT...

I always believe in learning something from setbacks, I don't use the word 'failure' or 'mistake', instead it's something life is telling me I need to learn. In this case my dismal knowledge of computer hardware, so I did a little research and you can get 8GB version of RAM sticks which should be compatible with my hardware. I will keep the Cyberpower ones as back up and buy my own better ones. Then I will be back to making videos again but with 32GB of RAM rather than 16GB.

So I'm not going to set a deadline, but I'm hoping to be able (IF all goes well) to release 5th June with:

Kyra Episode 1 - Couple of scenes left to animate, record and put sound on.

Adana Jensen Catches a Criminal - You know that cyborg girl I posted pics of? I made a short video with her, all animations done it just needs sound.

Kyra's Private Tuition - To supplement her income Kyra becomes a tutor to schoolgirls and boys. I already animated this, it just needs sound.

SRG Emily: The Interviews - You remember in the last SRG Emily where she will be assembling a squad? This is going to be a series of interviews (James from the early episodes, Fi Ling the Chinese girl, a certain rival to the red eyed girl from the last episode etc etc) with a vote for which ones make the team afterward.


I always had a few animated videos hanging back if ever there arose a situation where I needed to make it up to my patrons. I'm glad I did!

Anyway I thought I would keep you informed. I'd like to thank those that sent me comments and private messages of support, as soon as I receive the replacement or new RAM sticks (and wait to see if there are no further errors) I will begin my production again.
