Further to an earlier post explaining the need for a far better rig that can handle 3D Rendering, SSAO and other effects. Are there any Techie's out there among my legions of followers who can give advice as to which of these would be best? I started a few months back buying subscriptions to Webuser, PC Shopper etc to gain knowledge but there might be someone out there with far superior knowledge.

Cost wise the 3rd one is good but in terms of sheer power the first seems the best. I'll be honest anything is better than this laptop now. I remember getting this and being able to go up 1920 x 1280 resolution from the horrible pre-HD days. I'm creating at around 25FPS and then when I use my recorder it drops down to about 10-15FPS. My previous laptop couldn't even do that.

But in terms of sheer quality I need something that can handle more than that.

Much depends on your render software. Almost all of them are multi-core CPU capable, so more cores=better performance in general. For the GPU tasks, the 1080 is going to get you around 20% better performance than the 1070. Based on the choices in the image, this is one of those situations where more money will get you a better machine. That said, I don't think any of them is a bad deal and will likely be a big upgrade for you.

Just to put a fine point on it, any of these would be HUGE upgrade compared to most laptops.

My current laptop has the following: AMD A12 Processor Radeon R7 (Quad Core) 2.70 Ghz 8 GB RAM Integrated Graphics card with 4GB own Memory Laptop prior to that had: Intel m3 processor (Dual Core) 1.20 Ghz 4GB RAM

The A12 you have is way faster than an m3. I think you will still see a significant improvement.

i would choose the first one
