So for the next lesson I have learned:

SHIFT + F enables a free roaming camera. (Which was really needed!)

The outliner view lists everything in a scene, rather than me having to explore a 3d world and click on an object to modify it I simply go to the outliner view.

The Add-ons Menu - So Blender automatically comes with add-ons that can be turned on, such as the basic meta-rig in the picture above. Whilst I cannot create one from scratch yet, this is the basic skeleton that any 3d model uses, including the ones I use to do naughty things with.

As I said before the 1st chapter goes really into depth with menu's and functions before getting into the idea of editing. I want to go slow and get it right rather than rush in and have continually flick back to the book.
