To all that it may concern,

Many of you know that up until now I had a video patreon, that patreon is now disabled. I had from it's inception only 1 active patron and 2 inactive. making a grand total of 3 patrons in total.

At first I was happy to be creating videos but I felt in all honesty very pressured to meet the demands of me, knowing the fundamental liberty that no man is entitled to the labour of another I have decided to close the account.

I have done this now 21/09/2017 so that the patrons will not be charged on the 1st for the planned video: The Away Team. They were charged on the 1st of this month (September) and the video: Doomed Marine released on the 5th.

In the end I am further developing and the idea was no longer viable in terms of effort/reward factor nor in terms of stress of juggling 2 projects again. I am well aware that as a flaw I like to OVERWORK, makes a change from some patreons whom shall not be named. But Art itself is NOT a business first and foremost. I will always dislike my work becoming a production line because then the creative spark is lost. At such a point I can play the cold businessman just as much and it is the fundamental right of person who produces a so called 'product' to decide therefore to whom he/she does business and if of course to keep that business alive.

I like to produce art, I like to see people enjoy it. What I will never stand is the idea that because someone is giving me money that it automatically entitles them as a 'right' to say what they like and put down that work whilst expecting even more results. I am not an employee under contractual obligation. I am an artist to whom many people are being very generous with donating their money to me and I am morally obligated upon receipt of that money to give something back, this I recognise.

However the patreon model encourages what I call 'Disney-fication' of art, i.e. Art in and of itself ceases to be beautiful and creative and becomes too much of a production line with employers feeling that they own you. That somehow one is 'entitled' to my labour or my work is abhorent to anyone whom respects art and the fundamental freedom for one to own his/her own work.

I shall now focus 100% on this game AND on further developing my skills.

I shall NOT be doing a video patreon again, full stop, period. End of.

Those patron to whom pledged to my video patreon, I leave this calm and professional note explaining why. I no longer see such an endeavour as viable for the above reasons. I respect the business we did together and wish you all luck in finding another artist more to your style of business.

With Regards,

-Apocrypha

Lasted longer than I thought it would

I do not know if that is another negative or the first compliment you have ever paid me. Now you can pledge to that Monster girl game you spoke of before. :-)

Compliment. After the low interest the first week I didn't think you would keep it up.

Don't know what you mean. I'm a huge supporter of your work but I understand your decision. The low amount of patrons for the videos wasn't enough to justify the page. Makes perfect sense. I'm sad to see it go.

I suppose you will be moving on then? I can recommend others who do video if you'd like. Lition, Dragonbomb, SumthinDiffrnt, Julio Jakers are other video producers.

No I'll stay with my current pledge. You may have given up on videos but I haven't given up on your work. I've seen the other video producers and they failed to impress me
