I've loved Heisuten and Chinq reaction up until CA arc but especially since the palace invasion their hype/lighthearted approach seems so out of touch with where the story was/is going and the themes behind it, just a thought no offense really, everyone views a story different and it just feels that way to me in my own subjective experience

Well to me, this has always been their dynamic. They like to make jokes and stuff. It doesn’t bother me at all because I know they’re interested and actually taking it in. They still give their actual thoughts about things but they also do it in a way to make you laugh, it’s not much different than how they’ve always been. I don’t see it as them not being interested

I do think they're interested, who watches 100+ episodes of something they don't find interesting and I have LOVED their reactions so much so I wanted to be a patreon. My point, in short is that to me it's really jarring to have someone watch tragedy and react with hype and jokes For example to me their reaction to 126 where the dark side of Netero and the malice of human race is put on full display, along with other themes ofc... Their reaction came across to me as triumphant viewing Netero as a hero despite him literally telling Meruem that he should never underestimate humans infinite potential for malice and evolution using what Togashi describes as a weapon more demonic and inhumane than any other. Ofc it's more nuanced than that but we are basically told that the human race won because we have the potential to be more malicious, evil and inhumane than any other race, Netero was clearly not displayed as a hero in these episodes.. another example would their hype reaction to 130 and 131 which I do understand because Gon powers up in an insane way, but it's clearly meant to show that gon is an insane monster hellbend on revenge even if it means suicide. He is willing to give up his life for nothing more than taking revenge, without a second thought given to the people that are still alive and loves him, driven crazy by the need for revenge Gon forfeits his life to destroy Pitou, who btw, like Meruem was on the path to redemption. It's clearly meant to one of the most tragic episodes exploring the deep tragedy of Gon and all the themes put into his character leading up to this which would take way too long to write here but yeah 131 is meant to be one of the most tragic episodes of hxh... Chimera ant is mostly a dark arc with themes and episodes that's meant to leave the viewer with a feeling of poignance and melancholy not hype and laughter, just my 2 cents and it's not objectively wrong to see it otherwise. But it's subjectively wrong to me
