The clones are made basically from Ohnoki so it makes sense the particle style

Yeah, the only reason why Boruto survived that wasn’t because of the Jougan. It was because Kakou was literally going over his limits. So the the Particle Style didn’t finish the job.

Fun fact: Kakou was smiling at the end of the fight, he died happy because it was everything he wanted, to feel like a human. And reaching it limit made him feel that way.

If you look closely when Boruto started fighting, he threw a kunai with a string attached to it, he's learning from master Sasuke :) and when Sarada goes 1on1 with (RIP) Kakou you can subtly see Sarada's striking at Kakou's hands as he's trying to make hand signs for jutsu, just like when Sasuke fought Naruto in the final battle. This fight was really well done.

The Jougan only subconsciously activates whenever Boruto's controlling/using a lot of chakra like when he fought against Shizuma with Hiramekarei Sword (which takes a massive chakra) or against Momoshiki with the Giant Rasengan or in cases like Nue where he was detecting negative chakra amassing apperantly. He hasn't really been able to activate it on will yet
