so its not in the anime and it was already put in the manga by this point in the story, so not a spoiler on chrollo's ability: Chrollo's Nen ability allows him to steal the Nen ability of other people to use them as his own through a conjured book known as the "Bandit's Secret." The theft victim no longer has access to their stolen ability. The theft happens under strict conditions: He must witness the Nen ability in action with his eyes. He must ask about the ability and be answered by the victim. His victim's palm must touch the handprint on the cover of Bandit's Secret. All of the above must be done within an hour.

i feel like that happens because they over analyze certain situations too much, while there are some moments in the series where its a lot to take in, for the most part HXH is a pretty straight forward anime
