Best of wishes to you and your family first of all. Now, I have to agree with the other dude up in the comments about skipping the backstory. While I don't deny that it's interesting and well worth watching, I think you should focus on finishing the main plot, there isn't that much left if you skip the fillers.

Character development, that’s all I need to say, it’s a really good arc that explains a little more in detail, plus why y’all get so mad over this like you want Naruto to be over soon

I actually do but its not like he is ending Naruto sooner by skipping Itachi’s story, he is going to react to it but later, when the war is over, since like I said, his story won’t have an impact on what’s currently going on. Not like it matters, he already started reacting to it.
