Today is a great day and I have just done a happy dance in my living room.


May I present to you: ABANDON


This my long-promised compilation of b-sides, demos, old rarities, and other goodies from the last 15 years or so, and it's an exclusive download for you guys. It's something I've wanted to compile since probably around 2007, when I realized that the rate at which I wrote and recorded things far exceeded the rate at which I could actually properly finish anything. Of course, the rate at which I compile massive b-sides albums has also been less than brisk - so the pile of tracks that belonged here always continued to grow larger.


While there's a bunch of music included here because I didn't like how it turned out, I'm actually fond of most of it and sad that I couldn't complete it. But it's for the best, because I'm carving out room to work on projects I'm more passionate about and which I think you'll enjoy the most.


Thanks for your patience with me getting this out - we hit the $300 Patreon milestone about half a year ago, much sooner than I thought we would, and I was still living abroad at that time. Since getting home in May I've spent a few hours a week sorting through multiple drives and organizing and tagging all these tracks. There are 1,426 pieces of music here, coming to a total playing time of 53 hours and 55 minutes.

It's about 7gb of audio files (and one video!) that have been organized into a variety of folders, many with liner notes in .rtf format.


You have a few download options:

Hey everyone! Sorry that so many of you have experienced issues with unpacking the download. I zipped Abandon for sharing the way I've done with all my previous releases which have never had errors reported. It seems to only be an issue with Windows users, which perhaps isn’t surprising as I did all this stuff on a Mac. People are reporting different errors from one another, and I don’t know how to account for that (different versions of the OS or unarchiving program?) but from what I can tell, these are the things that are most likely causing problems and/or are different from what I’ve done in the past: 1. Way bigger file size. 2. Liner notes included in the form of .rtf files. 3. Special characters in some filenames that I haven’t used before. I know that .rtf’s are fine going back and forth between Mac and Windows, so I’m betting it’s the fact that there was a special character in every single .rtf filename (a # to keep it at the top of the folder). I’ve attempted to correct for all these issues by breaking the download up into parts of 2gb or less, and replacing or removing all special characters. I just finished downloading this and had a quick look through the folders. Much hanks especially for the liner notes. It would have been quite daunting and chaotic to go through otherwise. I'm not sure when I'll have the time to actually hack my way through these but I can't wait till I can. These projects aren't abandoned anymore. They are getting adopted by us now. I don't have the skill or the talent to make anything out of them, but someone already said they might. And even if I can't make anything out of them, I'll at least enjoy them too. Cheers again!
