Kinda depends on who's doing the threatening. But it's interesting that while Fortuna claims that they are allies, the two people who have threatened him are Dark Scientists, though it's probable that neither Fortuna nor Bogan actually know that.

I assume Balthazar doesn't know that they are Dark Scientists, but it would be interesting if Fortuna DOES. During their visit, Asmodea & Vonnie implied that they are going behind the other scientists' backs in some way. Balthazar may have revealed more than he knows here.

According to page 97, Belphegor is supposed to be the only one of the Dark Scientists to know who the others really are. Vonnie found out about Asmodea because of all her snooping, and is presumably attempting to go behind Morningstar's back by coordinating something with her directly. She knows something nobody else does, and is intending to use it to her own advantage, rather than working towards someone else's goals.
