I think it went downhill because the series couldn't evolve without breaking certain rules, like new characters and outside world, the whole series is supposed to be about and endless summer in which kids are left alone by their parents which go out for vacation, this is why S4 is considered by many the end, but actually the end is Ed Edd n Eddy: The Big Picture Show, it's an entire movie PLEASE WATCH IT. Season 5 was made as a result of show renewal, and it's when they started using digital ink, instead of traditional cell animation.

Hey guys great reaction as usual, so sad it's nearly over. Make sure you react to the final 2 specials before the movie, as the movie of course concludes the series. To give you a bit of trivia Ed Edd N Eddy was meant to end with season 6 (another season at school seemingly during the winter), but was scrapped midway for the movie. The movie to this day is still regarded as one of the best cartoon network movies of all time, so you're definitely in for a treat. I can't wait!
