In my opinion, it seems like this story might deviate from the canon story and might even get more dark content (Never seen or read it but heard that the manga/novel was on hiatus, not too sure about that but it would make sense if they end up deviating into less friendly topics) and honestly I'm surprisingly down for it because of the fact that Arc is so great and is voiced by Veldora so I can imagine him in these scenarios which makes it even more funny.

Story is deviating already, but not in any meaningful way. For example, in the LN he found Ponta captured and locked up in a Bandit hideout instead of in the forest.
