I like the ending. It's very satisfying and it is definitely a more impactful movie ending. But the ending in the novel is even more gruesome. :D His girl went mad from Wei Yings cultivation and she bit off his penis. He eventually fell victim to the same madness starting to eat his own flesh. Wen Zhuliu (his bodyguard) took Wen Chao and fled the scene. But Wei Ying stalked him for a long time. Making him eat his flesh every time he caught up. Jiang Cheng and Lan Wangji found them and here is where the trio reunites. Lan Wangji doesn't want them to continue with the torture but gets overruled by the other two. Wen Chao died after prolonged torture, kneeling in the direction of Lotus Pier. Both are fitting ends but the novel version is more prolonged. XD

Also, the end past scene he was making the Stygian tiger seal which they talked about in the end. It didn't kill him. You will have more flashbacks in season 2. But shorter ones. So if you were confused with the timeline. First, they went back 20 years. And the boys are 15 years old. They went back to the present when he was 19. (That's why it said 16 years in the future) But he didn't die until he was 22. So there are still some years left that needs to be unravelled. It's the mystery part. It gives you hints and makes you guess until the end. Especially if you would re-watch the two first ones you will catch a lot you might have missed that still hasn't been explained. Also, the man in the end isn't Wen Ning you think about. The one you saw is one of their old classmates when they studied in the Lan Cland. The one with the fan.

Also, Sorry for all the posts. But I am glad you liked it! A lot of people shun away from it because it has the BL stamp but it is soo censured that if you didn't know about it, it would be hard to notice it. Can't wait for the season 2 reaction. XD It will be mostly in the present with some backslashes but now he is the Demonic cultivation Wei Ying so he is easier to distinguish. X)

Mdzs (short for the show Chinese name) is so underrated mainly bc of the whole ‘BL’ tag which is heavily censored bc China lol. I really wish more people would give it a chance, I read the original novel and it honestly blew my mind by the end and wei’s story before his death is...a ride. Season 2 is present time with little flashbacks that are more obvious. I’m really glad y’all liked it!

No. Wei Wuxian was killed by the others. This was in the 1st ep so y'all probably won't remember. Wei Wuxian became so powerful he became the next Wen Ruohan (allegedly) and another campaign of many cultivation clans (the Lan, Jiang, Jin, Nie clans, etc) were called to vanquish him. The guy who died from qi deviation was Nie Mingjue, the guy with the saber who beheaded Wen Xu. His death is one of the big mysteries in this novel I cannot spoil yet, but just know that he's the one that died from qi deviation.

I advise to watch the first 2 episodes again before starting with season 2 to refresh your mind!
