I think you guys are overestimating Rimuru a bit too much. At this point in time, even Gazel can destroy him in 10 minutes max.

100%. Gazel is actually considered incredibly strong in that world. But when season 2 comes, you'll be surprised by how op Rimuru becomes.

Ye, it's a common misconception that Rimuru is OP in season 1 even in season 2 I wouldn't consider him OP.

Phobio is stronger than everyone in that room but Milim and Rimuru.To be clear Phobio is what the book calls sub-Demon Lord level while Rimuru is Demon Lord level.

For whatever reason, the anime changes Youm and his people's backstory from being a criminals sent to earn their freedom in a suicide mission to being mercenaries. It's a weird change that causes a minor issue on their motivations to flee. Note the guy with glasses was the only 1 among them not a prisoner and was instead sent to make sure they did the job but he ends up switching over to their side.
