The only bug's life info I have for you guys is that like you stated in the beginning there was a bug's life themed land at disneyland in california adventure. The story behind it is that when california adventure opened in 2001, it was a flop basically. One of the biggest criticisms was that there was a huge lack of rides/attractions for kids. So the imagineers developed bug's land as there was already a bug's life attraction "it's tough to be a bug" since opening, which is still open at disney world btw, and they thought it would be a good fit to turn an entire area based on a bug's life. The reason it closed down in 2018 was because the land really wasn't that popular as the primary audience was kids. There were also no restaurants or shops in the area I believe, just little kid rides. So, compared to a juggernaut area like Cars Land which appeals to everyone, it just didn't make sense to keep it open for business reasons. Also considering the fact, Disney had been wanting to build a marvel land for the entire 2010s as they incapable of doing so in florida due to legal reasons. I personally wish they turned bug's land into a toy story themed land like at disney world. Whereas there would've been a giant pixar conglomerate at the park. That would've been awesome, especially considering pixar plays a huge part in disney history.
