Sometimes when a painting arrives one must simply pause and marvel at the damage, for when it's this extensive, it's pretty impressive.  Suffice it to say, all hope is not lost and this painting situation will be transformed from Fowl to Pheasant.

First- I am thoroughly impressed with the amazing work you were able to do on this profoundly damaged piece. I'm sure you must relish the challenge of bringing all of your talents to the conservation of something like this painting. My first thought in looking at the damage was how you would retouch in that rather large missing section in the middle. It looked like there must be some missing detail(s) that would require some real artistic decisions, but your approach wasn't really addressed much in the video. Can you elaborate? Thanks!

I truly think you underestimate our willingness to watch you do just about anything. Cleaning, retouching the boring parts,...watching paint dry. 😆 Thanks for letting us into your world. Love your videos.
