Navigating the delicate intricacies of cleaning a painting isn't that uncommon from just about any venture; a delicate balance of give and take is required by all parties for the exercise to be successful.  Understanding the limitations of one's partner, anticipating their next move, understanding the effects of a solvent and controlling for its unknowns are all part of the dance that is required when navigating a relationship.
