Giving Life to the Heirloom - Part 2 of 2 - AD FREE

Artist unknown, untitled, no provenance; a ghost of a painting requiring a herculean effort to conserve. Old work that must be undone, hidden damage and a paint layer that is actively deteriorating. So why bother. Paintings are the vessels for our emotions, memories, and history. They are the places we store happiness, sadness, good times and bad. When we visit them they affect within us emotions that we can't otherwise solicit. And for this we can reach deep and summon the effort to conserve this piece. For the family who own it, it is certainly the most valuable and important painting in the world. - Official Baumgartner Merchandise https://teespring.com/stores/bfars-store Follow me on Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/baumgartnerrestoration Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/baumgartnerfineartrestoration

While watching you clean the frame and noting all the rather gross stuff that was coming off, I found myself wondering how you dispose of all that old junk you come across. I imagine most of it can just go into the standard trash, but I wonder: do you ever come across things that need to be disposed of more delicately? Any biohazard kind of stuff?

Hey Julian - long-time fan, first-time Tack commenter here. I would love it if you could add subtitles to your videos. There are services that you can outsource them to - Rev, Scribie, heck, even Fiverr. Having subs would make the videos accessible for so many others: D/deaf and hard-of-hearing, people with auditory processing disorders, and more. I’m autistic and as a result I find it more difficult to process videos without correct subtitles. Your diction is clear and YT’s caption tool picks it up fine, but mistakes still throw me off.
