Hello Commissioned Pioneers!

Alright so! I've been meaning to continue this new little tangent to the Wearing Power Armor to a Magic School universe for a while now and I've finally managed to finish the second part to what is effectively a new set of bonus content! :D 

If you recall, last month's extra little bonus content was an in-universe document I like to call "Emma's Homework at the IAS". It's meant to be a new type of bonus content that has the same vibe as the official internal correspondences between the higher ups, but instead focuses on Emma writing up reports and homework that's been assigned to her. 

This is the description I gave of it last time: 

What this is, is effectively a series of what could best be described as 'homework' material assigned by different departments at the IAS to Emma as part of her prepwork prior to being sent to the Nexus! This particular set of assignments is called the Cross-Cultural Information Dissemination Exercises or the CCIDEs. What they effectively are, are a bunch of essays Emma has to write up to more or less brainstorm what it is she should or shouldn't say when she heads on over to the strange world on the other side of the portal. The sociologists and the people working on thee IAS more or less have already written up an entire manual on this, the Social Integration and Operations Protocol (SIOP) as mentioned in the story. However this exercise is more or less an attempt to see what Emma would naturally gravitate to or think of, in addition to the SIOP. That's why it was handed out so early in her training. It's a way for her instructors to know her better so that they can adapt the training to be tailored towards her rather than just regurgitating the SIOP for her to memorize.

The instructors also know that there's only so much the SIOP can explain, as they have very little idea what type of society is on the other side of the portal. As a result, they want Emma to do these exercises in order to help strengthen her ability to improvise and adapt in new situations that might demand something outside of the scope of the SIOP.

It's part of my attempt to demonstrate the competence of the IAS and the UN in general as they try their best to prepare Emma for the other side!

It's also a way for me to expand and show the world on our side of the portal with world building and with discussions made that alludes to the state of affairs on future circa 3047 era humanity! :D However, similar to the internal correspondences, it's written from an in universe perspective so it's still prone to the biases of the character writing it! ;D

Anyways! This time around we have a followup to last part's homework! We have both a new part to the document which outlines the staff's response to Emma's prior answer, as well as their recommendations for her new assignment! And of course, this is followed by Emma's response and a little addendum at the end with more of her thoughts! 

This particular answer gives quite a lot more hints at the history of Emma's timeline. This time focusing on the 2300s, which is separated from Emma by about 700 years since she's in the year 3047! I really hope you guys enjoy this little dive into Emma's world and the back and forths between her and the IAS' science staff! :D 

Again this is very much experimental, and it's just something new I'm trying! I'll only write this so long as I have the time to do so, as I don't want it to interfere with the quality of the main story! :D
