A beautiful poem by Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin, a Russian poet, playwright, and novelist of the Romantic era who is considered by many to be the greatest Russian poet and the founder of modern Russian literature. B. Sheremetev - the composer who wrote music to go along with these beautiful words. I don't speak Russian but a lot of my viewers are from Russian speaking countries so I thought I would give it a try and learn a song so this is my 75K subscriber milestone song!

English translation

I loved you once, and perhaps that love has yet
To be extinguished completely within my soul
But don't let it trouble you any longer
I don't wish to cause you any more sorrow

I loved you silently, hopelessly
By shyness, I was tortured, or by jealousy

I loved you so sincerely, so tenderly
May God let you be loved that way by another.
