A bit of trivia, there was a time with Beastmen in 40k! Like decades ago. They were supposed to be guardsmen and humans, mutated by chaos cause their worlds were too close to the eye of terror.

And they fought for the imperium! Yes, they were mutant that the imperium used as meat shield to expiate their mutation for the god emperor.

They're not canon anymore for many many years.. but well, they introduced a new Squat character in Necromunda last year.. so who know?
