About the utilisation of devil fruits, you're right about Crocodile because he's a Logia type.. Smoker (Logia) turns his body into smoke whenever he wants or when his mind is alert, for example. On the other hand, the body of Zoan users is intangible. But Paramecia and Zoan types are different. Their fruits give them superhuman abilities that transform their bodies. Buggy's body (paramecia) can be cut apart in any situation and Dolton's body (zoan) is stronger than average even when in his human form. Luffy's body is always rubber.
