i never won't be on the side of you watching 1997 berserk, i understand that your mods would rather you read the manga (and I understand their feelings entirely) but I do think that original berserk anime has enough to work as a good experience and get you wanting to read more of the story, plus I feel like that original series has so much iconic and beloved stuff to it that I think any berserk fan would do good to see it. It's also a rare show where I like the dub better lol
