Thx for the Early Upload dude. How Zora outranks Asta it might be a translation error in English. In Japanese Dub, he has Seniority because he was given that Magic Robe before Asta or Noelle became Magic Knights, so technically he was a Black Bull Member longer before them. It doesn’t matter if he didn’t put it on. Once Yami gives you a Robe, he pretty much acknowledges as a Magic Knight and a member of his squad already. Kind of hoping you would react like it’s awesome that the Black Bulls had another powerhouse like him this whole time. These outcasts are just getting stronger.

He obtained the rank of 1st Class Junior Magic Knight which is the same rank as Charmy. Two Ranks above Asta who’s a 3rd Class Junior. He said he got that robe years ago so it’s possible that he’s been a Black Bull longer than Luck and Magna. He gained the rank because Julius knew him, and he also knew he was part of the Black Bulls as he said in episode 84 in the end. So when Zora was out saving citizen's from corrupt magic knights Julius was counting those good deeds (remember Julius is in charge of promoting mages no ceremonies necessarily just a formality). Even though Zora wasn't wearing the cape Julius still knew.
