PHOTOGRAPHER RANT: Okay so I kinda bungled this light setup with Amaya. She's big on linking me other photographer's work as inspiration for shoots and I'm big on not wanting to bite another photographer's style. That being said, this came out absolutely nothing like the inspiration image, so I'm happy with that. BUT I don't feel like I balanced the light very well. There's two lights in this scene, the red has a spotlight adapter, and the tan/beige light has a basic snoot. I wanted to be able to illuminate her face without using the spotlight and, while that kinda worked, I chose the way wrong color to coordinate it with.
Usually when I shoot bi-color scenes, I make sweeping adjustments in post to better fit the look I was intending, but that requires the colors to be far enough apart on the color wheel to not influence each other in post. The thought crossed my mind when I was setting this up, but I though "meh, it's close enough." Wrong lol. Masking was out of the question because it discolored the background enough to make it look fake as hell, so instead I used some radials to enhance and dehance colors in certain areas of each image. For example on the third image in, there's a tan colored light on her face that turns red at the top. That top part is artificial, and I felt it was needed to create more interest in the look besides just a bland orange light on her face. You can see this a few more times throughout the set, and I feel like it's mostly saved but I'm still kinda meh over it not coming out *exactly* how I'd hoped.
And for you guys begging me in my DMs for Amaya nudes, the top she's wearing is mesh and you can see her nips and piercings in a couple shots. A small pittance, but it's progress! haha
