Working with Lahanna has been a blessing, just an endless stream of ideas. I had no plans on shooting in this room until she pointed at the ceiling and was like "hello, these beams are dope". She was right, of course, but I almost fucked it up and..

Now I want to sell a few lenses to get a proper zoom. The first few shots are with my 50mm f1.4 Canon FD, the rest are with a Rokinon 35mm f1.4. Because of the way the house was designed (all curves), there was no way for me to get far enough away from her to capture anything other than waist up moody portraits, like you see in the first 3 pictures. So instead of doing the ENTIRE shoot this way, I swapped to the 35mm and suddenly I had more flexibility. BUT I was missing that moody portrait zoom that would've worked perfectly with, say, #11.

Swapping lenses too many times mid-shoot breaks the flow and risks dust in the sensor, so I stayed with the Rokinon 35mm as it gave the best overall result in what was actually a pretty dark room here on the dark side of the house. So this is all WHY I clearly need a zoom lens haha. Pardon my nitpicking, naturally, I have no complaints about Lahanna ;)
