I love how Jesse calling Jane's voicemail numerous times after her death is like a simile for Georgia O'Keeffe painting the door 20 times. When Jesse is trying to sell Andrea on his meth he repeats what Jane told him about "making that feeling last" doing something more than one time and it's significance- but Jesse twists it for his malicious motive.

Terri

I don't get Jesse's sense of morality. He'll sell meth and ruin families, but if he SEES it's affecting a kid then he draws a line. Also, I don't think they have Jesse fully developed in first season (regarding the prostitute). He wasn't supposed to last past first season. So I agree with Jesse all of a sudden having game doesn't quite work with how he behaved in first season.

First, off, Nice going Maple—callin’ the plays this whole episode! Second, Girls, buckle up! The next 2 episodes are fantastic, but also super-intense! After Arianna said she had emotional overload in EP-7, I recommend you watch both of these B4 your other shows!! :)

Also, my take on that dinner is it was Gus' attempt to sway Walt's allegiance away from Jesse (who he seems to mistrust at this point)

Justin

Jesse was sleeping with the neighbor lady when Emilio gets busted in the pilot- he's had game since the start of the show

Lara Grey

I don't think seeing a prostitue automatically means no game, maybe he just didn't want any emotional investment in someone for some time

Maple and Arianna have W takes on this show. Not liking the characters doesn't equate to being uninterested. The show is called breaking bad for a reason. Figuring out where each character falls on the spectrum of evil is what makes the show so engaging for me.

Dan

Also, having game doesn't mean it works every time. Sometimes adaptability only goes so far, and you gotta find the right partner who'd be receptive to conversational styles that you're good at. So, aside from the emotional investment, he might have not wanted to do the pre-Tinder equivalent of swiping for a few days waiting for a match to spit game at (it takes a lot longer IRL).

Dan

Maple and Arianna get around to it at the end, but yeah - while I agree that Skyler could have been written to be more likeable, it is also kind of cliche to just have a go-with-the-flow wife who just smoothly transforms from trad wife to gold digger ho without any friction. We've seen that plenty of times before, and Breaking Bad prides itself on giving us something unique to think about. Skyler initially left because the whole thing made her want to vomit, and visceral reactions can often be fleeting after you get used to it. So, while it may seem like inconsistent writing, I don't think it's poor form to have a person who changes their mind and, yes, does things that are hypocritical. People actually do that all the time, and it's only obvious in bad screenwriting because it's usually done to fit a narrative or scheduled plot sequence rather than something that might just make sense for a person with conflicted feelings and problematic behavior.

Kara

I think it can be as simple as "Skyler misses her family, the cute nerdy man she was married to for 20+ years and the 2 kids they raised together". As soon as she chooses not to file divorce and go to the police, in her head she's committing to being an accessory... so she might as well help make the crime as "unimpeachable" as possible.

Kara

I'm not saying Jesse has great game but the first time we meet him in 1x1 he's jumping naked out his topless neighbour's window after (presumably) having sex with her. It's when Walt is watching on the drug raid. Ya boy gets around.

Kara

Jesse has a soft spot for kids, we see this with his younger brother, and the little kid in the ATM episode. Selling meth to addicts is unjustifiable but it's easier for him to reconcile selling to a 'junkie adult' than selling to a parent of a young child, when he's seen firsthand how that can destroy a kids life. It's not that important but literally the first time we see Jesse in the show, he's jumping naked out of a woman's bedroom window after having sex with her lol (1x1).

Terri

Yes, I agree they portray him as having a soft spot for kids. But Wendy has a kid (Patrick) and he knowingly sells to her. I just think he's short-sighted not understanding the people he sells to have families (he's indirectly destroying.) He blames the addicts, but he's supplying the addicts.

Justin Calhoun

Maple, I think I can speak for all the strong alpha males when I say it's wonderful you've turned a new leaf on your outlook on Walt 😉

Bryan and Aaron reunited with the actors [Twins} that played the Peekaboo kid in the ATM episode at an event for there Tequila brand and its all on youtube just an FYI.

Daunte Johnson

I don’t think he necessarily blames the addicts. He just cares a lot about Andrea and Brock and when he realized that the situation was linked to his friends death, thats why he got involved. Also, most ppl have a moral line they won’t cross. He might do bad things, but that doesn’t mean he can’t have a sense of morality about particular things.
