Yeah, this is one of my favorite films as well; how it captures the ethereal qualities of emotion and dreams, intertwining them, is unmatched in any other film I’ve seen. Thanks for such a connected reaction to it. And Maple, it wouldn’t probably make for a good reaction as it’s super obscure and not streaming, but I think you might really enjoy My Life Without Me. It’s a melancholy film with a heavy premise but beautifully done and the ending always grabs my heart.

You should check out the tv show Kidding that Michel Gondry did with Jim Carrey a couple years ago, uses loads of his signature in-camera inventiveness when it comes to set design and scene transitions. It’s about a Mr Roger’s type kids entertainer (Carrey), who’s beloved by everyone, and how he has to cope and deal with losing one of his own kids in a car accident, whilst still trying to be this perfect, happy, quiet, peaceful idol for millions of people. Only made two seasons, it’s a great watch. Also Barry is a good shout for comedic-emotional fare.
