They finally got married at the end. When the world ended for them, gay marriage wasn't legalized yet. Same-sex marriage in Massachusetts has been legally recognized since May 17, 2004. If you think of it, Bill probably hated the world for not accepting who he is. Even now, there are still people fighting against gay marriage..
