An avatar triple drop?! Yassssss. Episode 12 is one of my fav of season 1 with the intro of Zuko's story and the parallels between him and Aang. The storytelling only gets better, can't wait for more!

The first appearance of Zuko's Dad, even though we never see his face. Voiced by Mark Hamill. Also Commander Zhao is voiced by Jason Isaacs aka Lucius Malfoy and the bad guy from the patriot.

Zuko's hair is a sign of his dishonor and shame. The top knot is the only part he has kept because it is only removed in a situation equal to or worse than death. This Fire Nation tradition is based heavily in Ancient Japanese Bushido Culture, in which literally every aspect of a person's life, especially a royal like him, was defined by their honor.

The warden in Ep 6 was voiced by George Takei, and Haru's father, Tyro, was voiced by Kevin Michael Richardson, the voice of the Mauler Twins and Monster Girl's monster form in Invincible, and Shredder in TMNT. Scott Menville, the voice of Robin in Teen Titans, does countless side characters in this show.

this episode was a turning point for many. It reveals this shows profound and complex storytelling in a more obvious way then before. For me personally ATLA is one of the greatest stories ever told and I learned a lot of amazing things about writing by watching it
