I think the biggest gripe people have about this season is that it seems somewhat directionless. The character development and backstories are top notch, but the plot feels kind of stuck. Anyway, my honest opinion is that this season was really good, but a bit of a step down from the first two seasons. I get why people think it's the not quite as good as the first two seasons, but I don't get why anybody thinks it's not good. It was great. This episode was probably the most emotional of the season, but I think the 1st, 6th, and 10th episode are on par with this one, for different reasons. The writing for this show is just unbelievably good - you really connect with these characters in a way where you forget for 30-60 minutes that these aren't real people, they're just actors playing these characters. But they all do it so well that you get completely lost in it and emotionally bond with these fictional characters. Emmy nominations were just announced last week for Season 2, and ten actors on this show got nominated for their performances... Jeremy Allen White (Carmen) was of course nominated again for Outstanding Lead Actor, Ayo Edebiri (Syd) was moved up to the Outstanding Lead Actress category (her win for S1 was as a supporting actress), Ebon Moss-Bachrach (Richie) was again nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actor and this time he'll be competing against Lionel Boyce (Marcus) in the category, and Liza Colon-Zayas (Tina) was nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress. Additionally, Jamie Lee Curtis (Donna), Olivia Colman (Chef Terry), Jon Bernthal (Mikey), Bob Odenkirk (Uncle Lee), and Will Poulter (Luca) all received nominations for their guest performances. The only one of the guest nominations that I'm sure is a lock to win is Jamie Lee Curtis (sorry, Olivia Colman, you were great, but JLC was next level). When next year's nominations come out, I'm gonna be really annoyed if Abby Elliott (Natalie) doesn't get a nod for Outstanding Supporting Actress for her performance in this episode. Her and JLC were unbelievable in this one. I don't want this show to make the mistake some other great shows have made of sticking around one season too long, but I'm still gonna miss it a lot when it's gone. Season 4 has already been filmed, because the actors on the show have a lot of other commitments (Ebon Moss-Bachrach is going to be in a Marvel movie next year). No official word on whether next season will be the last, but that seems to be the general vibe people have about it. Without giving anything away, I will forewarn you that after you watch the season finale, you're going to stare at a calendar and get bummed out realizing that you'll have to wait until late June 2025 to see what happens next (I'm assuming late June, because that's when all of the first three seasons so far were released). A lot of unresolved stuff to keep you wanting more.

I hope you really watch the last two episodes before you replace it GOT

I think this season is as good as the others because the show is a character study, that is its focus. It has never actually been a show about plot progression. The best episodes are almost entirely the ones that soley focus on exploring a character or characters. Nothing we are seeing in the season is meaningless, it all enriches the characters and that is what the show wants to do.

I will say, this clearly must be a female episode in a way I did not realize on my own...I THOUGHT I got the feelings watching this episode...but damn...I wasn't sobbing. I feel like an emotionless automaton compared to what I just saw the two of you guys go through in the last few minutes of the episode.

this show has to be the best of the year
