A lot of the relationship stuff between Ted and his wife are a commentary on Jason and his ex-wife Olivia Wilde! Its one of the more heart breaking parts if you know the details of their divorce.

Everyone needed this show. Perfect timing in 2020. Ted Lasso is a show of unabashed sincerity. Love it so much.

The 1-2 punch of this and Schitt's Creek (I know it didn't start in 2020 but it obviously reached the pinnacle of its popularity right around then) really did save a lot of sanity for people during 2020. And I'm not saying that trying to be hyperbolic; you get feel-good stuff, and I genuinely think those are two of the best feel-good shows ever made, at the same time during an incredibly stressful time? Man, it was SUCH fortuitous timing.
