Yep that episode fucked me up lol and still does every time I’ve watched it since it aired. Anna Sawai deserves the Emmy for this hands down, she’s an incredible actress. This whole episode was a masterclass in acting, Mariko really is the heart of this show. Mariko is my favorite character, and one of the best written characters. All of her scenes with Ochiba, the priest and Blackthorne were so beautifully written and acted.
