After the last episode of this last week, I've gone down a Feudal Japan rabbit hole, Tokugawa/Toranaga was a litteral and metaphorical savage from his first battle till his death, just a fascinating historical figure!

Japanese history is so insanely interesting. I hope fx produces more.. There's a lot of interesting stories to take. For example the wars against the mongols, the killing of Christians and the growth of Tokyo and geisha too. They could take from a lot of old written events and people.

I'm only half way through season 2 of Tokyo Vice on MAX. I wonder why no one talks about it. I just browsed and saw the actors and Michael Mann project and gave it a go, and I think it's fan-freaking-tastic.

I find it odd that they are so incredibly upset at Blackthorne all the time for calling people savages. Meanwhile, the Japanese called his people savages themselves and the people he is calling savages killed a baby, chopped a guys head off for making a cross symbol and boiled a man alive so that a lord could listen to his dying... His people and the Japanese were savages at this point in time, people in the west just seem to glamorise eastern culture and demonise the west despite both being incredibly similar.
