As you survey the chaos around you—only a week into the outbreak—your neighbor, Jared, stumbles towards you. His face is pale, eyes wide with fear. As he pleads for help, a zombie lunges from the shadow of the nearby porch. You react instinctively, grabbing a nearby shovel and dispatching the creature with a decisive blow to the head. The silence that follows is heavy, punctuated only by Jared's ragged breathing.

He's been bitten, a dark stain spreading across his shirt sleeve. With a trembling voice, Jared reveals that his wife is waiting for him, a 30-minute drive away, and he wants to see her one last time. He promises you his stockpile of supplies and weapons—an arsenal that would significantly boost your chances of survival—if you take him.

Now, you're faced with a dire choice:

  1. Risk the Trip: Transport Jared to his wife, accepting the danger of him turning during the journey to secure the supplies.
  2. Choose Humanity Over Reward: Euthanize Jared to spare him the horror of turning, knowing you'll lose the supplies but keep your humanity.
  3. Slow and Steady: Restrain Jared and take him with you, moving slowly to ensure safety, gambling that you'll get there before he turns.
  4. Bargain for Information: Convince Jared to reveal his wife's location with a false promise, then end his suffering and go to collect the supplies alone.

In a real life scenario, I'd tell Jared that he wouldn't want his wife to remember him on the brink of death, so I'd promise to deliver a letter instead. But make a legally binding contract that I get his supplies lol
