As valued patrons who are part of this journey at this tier or higher, you receive exclusive access to my monthly beta releases. Your support allows me to enhance the interactive stories I've been writing and you've been enjoying. In light of this, I've created a poll to gather your thoughts on the direction of my work for the upcoming month.
Typically, my routine consists of producing over 20,000 new words of content each month. Although this constant stream of narrative is worthwhile, it leaves me little room to implement new features that could enhance earlier parts of the game. That's why I propose dedicating the next month to focus solely on introducing new features, rather than generating new content.
Here are my primary feature concepts that I'm considering for across-the-board integration into the game:
- Introduction of Difficulty Levels: The game's existing mechanics would fall under 'Normal' mode. However, a 'Hard' mode would introduce an increased level of challenge, requiring you to undertake challenges without any Skill bonuses. Skill checks would also see a 10-20% hike in difficulty, making it tougher to succeed. Additionally, while 'Normal' mode would revert you to a point before a fatal decision, 'Hard' mode would terminate your game upon death.
- Age-Based Mechanism: During character creation, you could choose your age, which would influence various aspects of the game. For example, it would determine romantic options and influence how other players interact with you.
- Game Checkpoints: This feature would allow you to resume the game from any chapter or significant stopping points within more extensive chapters.
Please note that the checkpoint feature is still in development. Choices of Games (CoG) is in the process of updating Choicescript to incorporate this functionality. Nevertheless, I have preliminary access to some of the forthcoming code and can begin integrating checkpoints into Safe Haven.
I invite you to participate in the poll to help steer the future of our shared adventure. Your input is invaluable, and I look forward to delivering an even more immersive experience based on your feedback.
So here is where you get to vote. Next month, should I…
