I've had a few people ask me for higher tier reward options, and I have been trying to come up with ideas for them.

Truthfully, I value two things, your money and my time. For me to offer a reward, it has to be sustainable, offer something I feel I can 100% provide, and is worth the money someone pays. I'm already providing insight into my games, but I do love to teach game design.

So, my question to you -- are you interested in an hour per month of live interaction with me to discuss crafting Choicescript games? I would set the level at $25 and provide a livestream (either through Google Hangout, Discord, or some other medium we all agree on) where we could meet, discuss game design, coding, dissect games, hold a Q&A session to discuss patron games, and other related tasks.

NOTE: Once I reach $1000 per month support, I will still host a Twitch or Livestream session for everyone. This higher tier reward will be an extra session dedicated to game design.

Take my money and deal with it. Haha. Your dedication and passion for your games and fans is all I ask for. That’s what makes any tier and any amount of support I can give worth it. Whatever you do (I know most others will say the same) I’m there and I got your back. We love you and your games.

I really want to learn more about coding :)

I will leave this running for a while but for now, I will hold off on adding tiers. As we get more patrons, I may one day hit the next goal and start Twitch streaming. Maybe in May, I will do a public event to teach basic coding and do a Q&A.

More interested in something related to the game than coding at higher levels.

I'm happy to discuss the game. I will likely take a poll for topics to cover.

Thanks Jim for responding, my thoughts are simple and I wonder whether you consider it on similar track as your goals: I'd like to see you becoming full-time writer if you so choose, and so as to produce high quality stories at a faster rate which also would give you more financial freedom at the same time. If you would confirm how our contributions had help you achieving that then I'd be more than happy to step up the contribution :). On the rewarding side, personally my suggestion is that if you would consider adding content / patches to previous work already done like a new side quest / new character or events in previous chapters to increase replay-ability, and depth and areas where you may also want to augment on a regular basis (?monthly). And patrons who pay a higher contribution may have a degree of influence over if / which area to patch. This would also give you a chance and incentive to modify previous areas to truly perfect your story. What do people think?

This will be a long answer, and I actually will add this to my next newsletter. The short version is that currently, I make less than minimum wage for writing. Therefore, I keep working a normal job (40 hours per week). My goal is to leave my job in 5 years. Making an income from game sales and Patreon will hopefully be enough for me to live. Right now, I am spending all of the Patreon money on Part 2-2 of Safe Haven. I am giving some money to my co-writers, paying for testing, and paying for an editor. Part 2-2 is a free update to players and you can see the list of additions: <a href="https://www.patreon.com/posts/info-on-part-2-2-17846895">https://www.patreon.com/posts/info-on-part-2-2-17846895</a> It is really hard for me to ask for donations. To me, I want to give more to everyone who supports me.

Thanks Jim, I think you’re doing great and as you have seen there’s a big group of us backing your dream. What you’re receiving are not donations, but investment in you earned through your hard work and amazing stories you created that move emotions. As You continue to write and share your gifted talents this group will become ever bigger, and you’re moving ever closer to your goal everyday :)
