Given that the NPC we're building is a musician with a high Medicine skill, I am thinking of a medical student who quit before residency to tour with his/her/their band, Goldrust.

I would honestly say male... mainly because when I envision this character, I see him as a middle aged doctor with a passion for music... best of both worlds.
